La Mercedes non cambia e per il 2019 ha confermato la line up Hamilton-Bottas. Dopo Lewis, che ha rinnovato fino al 2020, è arrivata anche la firma di Valtteri che ha prolungato il suo contratto di un anno con un'opzione per un altro. Il pilota finladese ha commentato: "Sono molto orgoglioso di far parte di questa incredibile squadra. Continuerò a dare il mio 100% per i nostri obiettivi. Il duro lavoro paga sempre!".
